Great Websites

Here are some great websites:
Math:

St Math is a website we use at school, but can be used at home too.  Students use math skills to help a penguin, Jiji, move across the screen- http://web.stmath.com/

Reading:

Lexia is another wonderful website we use in class.  Students just need to enter my email, kathryn.smith@sausd.us, to get started.  Their username and password is their lunch number- http://www.lexiacore5.com/

Story Line Online is a great website where real actors read wonderful children's books- http://www.storylineonline.net/

Read Write Think is an excellent website with activities for students and resources for parents- http://www.readwritethink.org/parent-afterschool-resources/grade/1-2/

Art:

Art for Kids Hub is one of my favorite websites.  A father, and his young son and daughter, show students how to draw a variety of things- http://artforkidshub.com/

Science:

Ask a Biologist is a great site from Arizona State University (ASU) where students can watch science videos, listen to podcasts, and play science games- http://askabiologist.asu.edu/home

Science Bug is a website where students can learn what it is like to be a real scientist- http://sciencebug.org/index.html

Physical Educatio (P.E.):

Yoga is a great way for kids to stay fit and keep calm- http://www.cosmickids.com/
